I’m married to the love of my life. I’ve got a 3 year old son (seriously, where did that time go?) who absolutely cracks me up, every time. We recently added a daughter to the mix. I’ve got 2 dogs that get me out of the house and help me keep perspective on life (yes, you’re right, throwing the ball is much more important than blogging). I like to get out in nature and play, which used to mean climbing slowly up mountains, or hurtling quickly down them. While still fun, I find as much enjoyment sitting beside a bubbling stream and watching the dippers.

I’m Founder of The Sugar Fix, a business designed to help people overcome sugar addiction. Putting that ol’ diabetes diagnosis to good use.

I work for Enviros Wilderness School as the manager of “Base Camp”, a 3-month residential drug treatment program for adolescents in the province of Alberta.

I drive a truck on Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) that I get for free from three restaurants in Cochrane. More about this project here . It’s been pretty awesome.

I’m also co-chair of SPUR (Sustainability Partners Uniting Resources) in Cochrane, AB. We’re a volunteer group that’s working really hard with stakeholders to move the town in a sustainable trajectory. We do some pretty neat stuff that’s worth checking out.

And because that’s not enough to keep me busy, I write a blog and I regularly present at a variety of conferences and run workshops on a lot of the stuff that I write about. Feel free to get in touch with me via Twitter (@jeffcouillard) if you’re interested in learning more.
